We all want the best for our dogs, especially when it comes to their health. The premium dog food market is currently surging with new companies sprouting up promoting human-grade and grocery-grade ingredients that even you – the human – can eat. At the forefront of this industry is NomNomNow, who uses real, whole food ingredients and ships perfectly portioned meals right to your doggy door. NomNomNow is currently ranked #1 as our most recommended fresh dog food delivery company.
Following the success of their fresh dog food delivery service, NomNomNow focused on creating a new line of dog treats with the same underlying model: 100% human grade food. We ordered a few packs for Sasha to try out.
NomNomNow Dog Treat Review
Ingredients in Each Recipe
There are currently two flavors to choose from, both of which are claimed as human grade. I hope you didn’t expect a long read, because these ingredients lists are short.
Beef
Ingredients: 100% pure beef sirloin
Yep, that’s it. Apart from being 100% USDA Certified, the treats also claim to have no preservatives, sodium, additives, or fillers. NomNomNow simply takes a cut of sirloin, cuts it into strips, and dehydrates it.
Guaranteed Analysis:
Crude Protein (min) 71%
Crude Fat (min) 16%
Crude Fiber (max) 1%
Moisture (max) 7%
You can see this is a very high protein dog treat, so you always have to be sure to only give these as toppers or treats and use these as a replacement for a balanced diet (also be sure to always provide fresh water).
Chicken
Ingredients: 100% pure chicken breast
Similar to the beef, this chicken is 100% USDA Certified and free of preservatives, sodium, additives, and fillers.
Guaranteed Analysis:
Crude Protein (min) 78%
Crude Fat (min) 7%
Crude Fiber (max) 6%
Moisture (max) 9%
Did we like them?
I’ll let these two pictures answer that question.
Sasha is nuts for these things. She can sniff them out as they come in the mail and cries until I open the box. One thing I would like to point out is that the treats are very large, so you have to break them into pieces before feeding. Even if you have a large dog, I recommend breaking these up to prevent them from trying to swallow too big of a piece.
There is not much of a smell to these which is pleasant for me – I hate the smell of some of the sodium and preservative-filled “jerky” treats on the market.
What’s also amazing to me is that you can actually see the shape of the chicken breasts as they were cut – very similar to what you would buy in a grocery store, only dehydrated. There is no BSing with these treats – just simple, real food.
